I have officially joined another One Room Challenge (ORC). This is my 3rd time entering and each time I fail to finish the project on time (and as of today, I haven’t finished it at all!). So it begs the question…am I a masochist or insane? lol. Regardless, we’re going to try this again, but I’m sticking to a mini project this time around.
For the fall 2025 ORC, I will be decluttering my hallway closet and transforming the bifold doors into double doors. Every…and I do mean every bifold door in this house has a functional issue or it’s completely off the rails.
This is where we are now—->

I know it looks like I opened the closet to show you our wonderful clutter but the door is actually stuck in this position. It came off the rails and did a Michael Jackson lean on the tile floor. So we can’t even close the door and pretend the clutter doesn’t exist like normal people do. I hate bifold doors. So I am going to turn these ones into double doors, add trim, paint them and add new handles. Hopefully this will allow it to, idk CLOSE again 😩 I bought the supplies for this DIY project over a year ago and they’ve been collecting dust since. That’s normal in this house. Don’t panic for me. So, luckily the only thing I need to buy for this project is the trim.
So, here’s the plan: I’ll declutter and organize one shelf a day so I don’t overwhelm myself. I’ll turn these doors into double doors, add trim, paint it and add new gold handles. Hopefully this will allow it to, idk CLOSE again 😩 I bought the supplies for this DIY project over a year ago and they’ve been collecting dust since. That’s normal in this house though, so don’t worry that anything is wrong. Luckily, the only thing I need to buy for this project is the trim.

Here’s to finishing this ORC on time and getting functional doors. If it goes well, I may fix the remaining doors 🙂
Pray.for.meeeee. And stay tuned for updates. You can also check out the other participants’ progress on the ORC page
